A sculptural composition “Ion Creanga” will be placed at the university that bears the writer’s name. The building costs will be covered by the work’s author, sculptor Valentin Vartosu, while the costs for buying the necessary materials and for laying out the adjoining area will be covered with the university’s funds and with sponsorships, IPN reports.
Valentin Vartosu is a member of the Union of Plastic Artists of Moldova. He became known owing to his crosses in memory of the victims of the Soviet regime and commemorative plaques in honor of writers and other frontrunners, set up in public places.
