The German Cultural Center AKZENTE stages showings of silent films accompanied by live piano and violin music. The mobile movie theater Open-Air-Kino presents silent films of different genres in the open air, IPN reports.
According to a press release of AKZENTE, the artists from Leipzig Tobias Rank and Stephan Gunthard already set off by an epoch firefighting vehicle (Magirus Deutz, 1969) and bring with them the necessary technical, audio, lighting and screening equipment. The German artists will create an atmosphere that will remind of the beginnings of cinematography.
The program includes the films “The skating rink” (1916) with Charlie Chaplin, “One week” (1920) with Buster Keaton, “Ein Sonntagsfahrer” (1925) with Larry Semon, “Vormittagsspuk (1927) with Hans Richter and “Der Trinker” (2012) with Tilo Baumgaertel.
The showings will take place in Europe Square in the Central Park of Chisinau on September 28, starting at 8pm. The cultural event is supported by the Goethe Institute in Bucharest.
