Beginning on Tuesday, joint control groups will work at internal customs checkpoints along the administrative border with the Transnistrian region to verify scrap iron, steel and other metals, the Moldovan Customs Service announced.
The joint control groups are composed of officers from the Customs Service, the General Police Inspectorate, the National Road Transport Agency, the Inspectorate for Environmental Protection and the State Tax Service.
The Customs Service is asking metal and scrap metal operators to make sure they hold all the required papers and meet all shipping conditions.
