Schools ready for new school year

Most of the preschool education institutions in Chisinau are prepared for the start of the new school year. The heating systems have been checked and cleaned in all the institutions by August 24. The extensive and current repair works in 90% of the schools have been completed, the head of the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport Tatiana Nagnibeda-Tverdohleb said at Monday’s meeting of the City Hall, Info-Prim Neo reports. Special commissions will check the technical and other conditions in education institutions between August 24 and 26. Tatiana Nagnibeda-Tverdohleb also said that another 20 parents asked for financial assistance of 600 lei, which is offered to children from disfavored families at the start of the school year. Eliferie Haruta, the head of the Green Spaces Association, said that about 200 dry trees growing near schools and kindergartens had been cut during the last three weeks. Another 190 trees had been trimmed. The head of the Public Transport and Communications Division Veaceslav Terna said that practically all the streets going to education institutions have been marked and there were placed road signs. “All the irregularities identified by the Traffic Police have been removed. The works in the suburban settlements will be completed by September 1,” Veaceslav Terna said. He also said that 103 buses, 1,600 minibuses and 260 trolleybuses will run along routes from September 1. Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca asked that by a traffic agent work near education institutions on September 1 and bans the parking of cars nearby. Over 159 preschool education institutions will start work in Chisinau on September 1.
