The solemn school year end festivity “Last Bell Ring” will be held in schools and lyceums on May 31, in accordance with the decision taken by the local extraordinary public health commission, depending on the alert level set for each settlement and in compliance with the sanitary measures. In the schools of Chisinau, these festivities will involve only the students who finish levels of education, IPN reports.
According to a circular signed by Minister of Education Lilia Pogolșa, the education institution will decide the format and conditions of holding the school year end festivity and, if necessary, a staggered timetable for participants, depending on the number of students and the chosen venue. No other festive activities intended for students can be performed inside schools on May 31.
Contacted by IPN for details, Angela Kutasevich, deputy mayor of Chisinau in charge of the social sphere, said the festivity “Last Bell Ring” in the capital city will involve only the fourth, ninth and twelfth graders, who complete the corresponding levels of education.
“The May 31 festivities will be held in the open air, by obeying the measures to prevent infection with COVID-19. Educational classes were recommended for the other grades so that the students are taught safety rules in summer,” said the deputy mayor.
According to the last data provided by the Ministry of Education, 33 (0.01%) students of primary and secondary schools and lyceums tested positive for COVID-19, while 514 (0.15%) students are in quarantine.
