As many as 82 young people were chosen as beneficiaries of the project “Scholarships for young people from boarding schools” implemented by the Educational Advising Center. The scholarships of 12,000 lei each are provided in tranches in the course of a year to pay tuition or satisfy personal needs, IPN reports.

Educational Advising Center executive director Angela Muset said the money is intended to help the young people to easier integrate into society.

A number of 106 applications were submitted for this year’s contest. The applicants wrote a motivation letter explaining how they intend to use the money. The academic standing of the young people was also taken into account, stated Angela Muset.

Adriana Cibotari, students of the Chisinau-based College “Alexei Mateevich”, said she will spend the money on food and clothing.

Igor Pierdivara got a scholarship for the second consecutive year. “For me, this scholarship was like the first salary. I developed the skill to manage on my own,” stated the young man.

The project “Scholarships for young people from boarding schools was launched in 2010. Scholarships to the value of 5.800 million lei have been provided during six editions of the project.
