Prime Minister Vlad Filat told a press briefing Thursday that while Finland, Sweden and Norway support the path of reforms and European integration chosen by Moldova, they are closely watching the situation in our country. Vlad Filat said that he discussed with officials from the three countries issues concerning bilateral issues in multiple areas, with particular attention being given to the assistance offered to Moldova for advancing reforms. In this respect, the prime minister mentioned the €52 million assistance from Sweden that is expected to be offered as a grant for promoting projects of major importance in Moldova, as well as Norway's assistance for the justice reform. “I have been assured of further support to Moldova within the framework of the Eastern Partnership, in negotiations on visa liberalizations and on the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement”, said Filat. The governmental delegation was accompanied in this trip by a number of Moldovan businessmen. “Together we participated in a Moldova-Finland business seminar in Helsinki, a Moldova-Sweden roundtable on trade and investment in Stockholm, and a Moldova-Norway economic forum in Oslo”, said the prime minister. During the visit, Vlad Filat invited his Finnish, Swedish and Norwegian counterparts to visit Moldova and they accepted. Also, a delegation from the Swedish company IKEA will visit Chisinau in November to discuss the possibility of launching operations in Moldova.
