Eight people came under the scrutiny of the police after they set up an LLC and placed ads on a platform famous in the agricultural sector, informing that they were selling sunflower seeds in large quantities, which they actually did not have. The suspects managed to conclude at least one false sale and purchase agreement, acquiring hundreds of thousands of lei. Two of the suspects are in detention, serving sentences for similar crimes, IPN reports.
According to the General Police Inspectorate, the suspects misled the administrator of a company. Under the pretext of selling sunflower seeds, they drew up a false sale and purchase agreement and, as a result, defrauded the entrepreneur of 245,000 lei.
The administrator notified the police in November 2024, stating that, after making the bank transfer, he understood that he was deceived. The products were not delivered to him, and the person he spoke to was not answering the phone.
Following the taken actions, the police established that the suspects, aged between 24 and 35, including three women, set up an LLC with the legal address in Hansca village of Ialoveni district.
Documents, stamps, bank cards, mobile phones, SIM cards, electronic signatures and information about all companies in selling grains and other goods were seized during the searches.
Two men and a woman were placed in pretrial detention for 30 days. Two other women are investigated outside custody. Two other young people serve time in jail for similar crimes. The organizer of the group is wanted for committing similar crimes.
In accordance with the criminal law, the suspects face 4 to 8 years in jail and a fine of up to 450,000 lei.
