The autumn season at the Chisinau theater “Satiricus” I.L. Caragiale was opened unofficially with the launch of the volume “Sex & Perestroika” and the reading show “What Shall we Do with the Grandfather?” by Constantin Cheianu on September 21, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Speaking about this event, the theater's artistic director Sandu Grecu told the reporters that though it is hard to survive in a society that is indifferent to the product of the intellectuality, Cheianu showed that he resists through his works. According to Grecu, the book “Sex & Perestroika” has a very interesting architectonic and its content and stylistic features are different from other works produced in Moldova. “The atmosphere of the book is light and sincere. The author is not narcissist and does not try to present a positive biography or a hero. It is the biography of an artist living in our world – sick, sweet, crazy, but healthy, an artist who loves the people,” Grecu said.
For his part, Constantin Cheianu stressed that the books tells us where we come from, starting with 1989, but the play tells us where we go, following the April 7 events.
The official opening of the season at “Satiricus” I.L. Caragiale will take place on October 2, while in November the theater will put on the play “April 7 or What Shall we Do with the Grandfather?” and express its position on what's happening in Moldova.
