The second round of mayoral elections in Sarata Galbena commune of Hancesti district will take place on May 29. A decision to this effect was taken by the Central Election Commission on May 17, IPN reports.
According to the Commission, the voters will choose between the two candidates who won the largest number of votes in the first round. These are the Democratic Party’s candidate Mihail Lozovoi, who polled 996 votes or 49.08% of the vote, and the Liberal Party’s candidate Valeriu Taras, who won 918 votes or 45.24% of the poll.
Under the Election Code, the second round of voting is held with the participation of the same electoral bodies and based on the same voter rolls.
