Santa Claus from Lapland is expected to come on a two-day visit to Chisinau on January 15. His plane is scheduled to land on the International Airport Chisinau at 15.00.
Albert Zagnitco, chairman of the Moldova-Finland Friendship Association, told the press that Santa Claus’ tour of the countries of the world is not a novelty. Such visits have been always made and the one to Chisinau will be the first Santa Claus’s visit this year. “During the winter holidays, Santa Claus stays at his residence in Lapland, but before and after the holidays he pays visits to different states, the cited source said.
Albert Zagnitco also said that the visit will have an exclusively philanthropic character. Santa Claus will visit a number of children’s homes and schools, will distribute gifts and will gladly discuss with all the people near the fir tree located in front of the City Hall on January 16, at about 10.30.
Also, Santa Claus will have a number of meetings with Moldovan officials.
Santa Claus will stop at Leogrand hotel. Albert Zagnitco says that Santa Claus is accommodated free of charge in all the countries that he visits, because it is a great honour for a hotel to provide services for a legendary person. But Santa Claus is unpretentious and does not have exaggerated demands.
Santa Claus will come to Chisinau at the request of the Moldovan-Finland Friendship Association and with the assistance of the Finnish Embassy based in Bucharest.
