Checking 24 of those 140 kindergartens from Chisinau indicates that the sanitation state is satisfactory, Vera Ciumac, an official responsible for pre-school institutions of the Education Division, stated at the sitting of the Division's board on May 28, Info-Prim Neo reports. Ciumac has specified however that these results do not mean there are no breaches. Largely, the kindergarten observe the feeding regime of children, the meals are diverse, and the menu for 10 days is approved by the Preventive Medicine Center. However, the kindergartens need nutritionists, find members of the board of the General Division for Education, Youth and Sports. The shortage of physicians is another key problem the kindergartens cope with. Only nurses work, who do not even have the right to write prescriptions. Only 4-5 kindergartens have employed physicians, Vera Ciumac said. According to the Division's head, Tatiana Nagnibeda-Tverdohleb, there is no money to hire doctors, especially because of the world crisis. The daily meals for a child in normal kindergartens cost 13.5 lei, of which 9 lei are allocated by the state and 4.5 lei by parents. The meals in special kindergartens cost 19.2 lei. 1,288 children have been spared from paying for meals this year. From the beginning of the year, over 370,000 lei were allotted to buy medicines and detergents for kindergartens.
