The sanitation facilities in two schools of Gagauzia have been renovated with the assistance of the United States. According to a press release from the U.S. Embassy in Moldova, the about 1,400 children who attend these schools will benefit from modern facilities when they are back to school in September, IPN reports.
“Such efforts have a direct impact on the daily life and improve the future of this nation – a task that both our governments strive to carry out. Such projects underline the good cooperation between the United States and Moldova,” said U.S. Ambassador William Moser.
The action is part of a broader project for rural areas that is implemented in Gagauzia through the Civic Assistance Program of the United States European Command. Within this project, seven schools in Vulcanesti, Besalma, Congaz, Comrat, Gaidar, Joltai, and Cazaclia had their sanitation facilities renovated.
The Unites States has provided over US$400,000 for implementing projects to renovate the sanitation facilities in schools all over Gagauzia.
