The number of subscribers to fixed wireless Internet access services in January – September this year rose by 6.6% to 497,700. The sales of such services increased by 15.7% to 731 million lei, the national ICT regulator ANRCETI has said, quoted by IPN.
The largest number of subscribers chose Internet connection speeds of 30 to 100 Mbps. The lowest number of subscribers preferred speeds of over 100 Mbps.
According to the ANRCETI report, the largest part of the revenues of the providers of fixed Internet access and data transmission services – over 689 million lei – came from the sale of Internet access services.
In the period, the largest rises in sales were reported by Starnet Solutii and Moldtelecom. At the end of the third quarter of 2014, the market shares of Moldtelecom and Starnet Solutii on the fixed Internet access and data transmission services segment were 64.4% and, respectively, 20.4% by turnover.
In Moldova, fixed Internet access and data transmission services are provided by 61 companies.
