Saint George Ribbon of 365 meters spread in central Chisinau

A 365-meter long black and orange ribbon representing the colors of Saint George Ribbon has been stretched in the center of Chisinau today, May 4. The event was organized by the Russian Youth League and forms part of the program of activities that will be held to commemorate the Soviet Army soldiers. The event was staged with the aim of conveying the message that none of those who took part in World War II should be forgotten. “This ribbon joins several peoples. It’s not the symbol of one country only, as some say. It is the symbol of our victory,” Ana Pocitari, a member of the Russian Youth League, has told Info-Prim Neo. According to the organizers, the Saint George Ribbon spread today has a record length that was written in the World Guinness Book. The Russian Youth League will also distribute 20 000 smaller ribbons. On May 6, the Russian Youth League will mount a motor rally from the Great National Assembly Square to the Memorial Complex “Eternity”. All those interested who have a car can take part in the rally.
