Schoolchildren as well as adults will be able to learn more about preventing emergencies and how to react when these occur at the Safety School that opened on Thursday in Chisinau, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Safety School head Liliana Puscasu said that the employees of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service (SPCSE) would teach the trainees how to respond to fires, floods, earthquakes, chemical or radioactive accidents and so on. The training takes a couple of hours. Those interested must register in advance. Special attention will be paid to training children. The Safety School plans to train 20,000 people yearly.
The institution has several rooms with models of buildings in order to show the visitors how to intervene in case of calamities. Besides, the institution will exhibit objects which are the most frequent causes of fires.
Head of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service Mihail Harabagiu is confident that there will many who will wish to attend the school. “Children are encouraged to spend their free time with our employees, who will do their best to train the young generation. The Safety School will be open for both kids and adults”, said Mihail Harabagiu.
Attending the event, Prime Minister Vlad Filat noticed that rescuers and ordinary people faced a big challenge in 2010, when they had to deal with the floods. That challenge proved the need to train people to face disasters. “The impressions are good. This center provides both theoretical and practical knowledge. It is important that as many children as possible come here for training”, said the Prime Minister.
The implementation of the project was made possible by the 2 million lei financing allotted by the Social Investment Fund .
