Snow guard panels are installed on several national public roads. They are installed at a distance of several tens of meters from the carriageway to reduce the risk of snow on certain sections. The action was announced at a meeting of the Road Fund Council, chaired by Prime Minister Dorin Recean, IPN reports.
According to the authorities, the snow-guards are being installed at a distance of about 30-40 meters from the roadside, for a total length of 36.13 kilometers.
In this context, the State Roads Agency says that all winter intervention equipment has been technically checked and the stocks of anti-skid materials and technical salt have been replenished and distributed to the 39 warehouses in the territory. In order to carry out winter maintenance work - snow clearance and distribution of anti-skid material - 500 units of road machinery and equipment will be deployed.
In order to ensure operational information on winter road traffic conditions, the ASD has set up a round-the-clock intervention service. This will include monitoring the use of anti-skid materials and road equipment necessary for winter road maintenance.
Video surveillance cameras will also be used during the cold season to monitor the condition of national public roads and traffic flow.
