The Ambassador of the Russian Federation Oleg Vasnetsov on Thursday was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he was informed that an employee of the diplomatic mission was declared undesirable in the Republic of Moldova, IPN reports.
“The Moldovan authorities took the decision following the undertaken specific activities as a result of which information and evidence attesting to the conduct on the territory of the Republic of Moldova (by the Russian diplomat) of activities incompatible with the diplomatic status were obtained,” reads a press release of the MFA.
The diplomat declared persona non-grata is to leave the Republic of Moldova.
Two officials of the Parliament and the Border Police were detained and are investigated for treason and plotting against the Republic of Moldova in their communication with an employee of the Embassy of Russia in Chisinau. The head of the Parliament’s Legal Department Ion Creangă is reportedly involved.
