Minister Nicu Popescu ordered to urgently summon the Ambassador of the Russian Federation in Chisinau Oleg Vasnetsov to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (MFAEI). The Ministry noted that the diplomat was invited to be informed that the violation of the sovereign territory of the Republic of Moldova by a Russian rocket is inacceptable, IPN reports.
According to the MFAEI, the Russian side continues the war of aggression against Ukraine and the missile strikes against the neighboring country directly and negatively affect the citizens of the Republic of Moldova.
“We strongly reject the recent unfriendly actions and statements referring to the Republic of Moldova, which are absolutely inacceptable for our people. We call on the Russian Federation to stop the military aggression against the neighboring country, which causes huge losses of human lives and massive destruction,” said Daniel Vodă, spokesman for the MFAEI.
The Ministry of Defense confirmed that a rocket crossed the airspace of the Republic of Moldova. According to the institution, the responsible authorities at 10:18am detected a rocket that crossed the national airspace over Mocra village of the Transnistrian region and later over Cosăuți village of Soroca district, heading towards Ukraine.
