Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin, who is the special representative of the Russian President for Transnistria, suggested opening a Military School “Suvorov” in Moldova’s Transnistrian region that is not controlled by the constitutional authorities, IPN reports.
According to “Novyi Region” Agency, Dmitry Rogozin argued that a branch of the military school should be opened in the region because the 170,000 Russians living there should receive patriotic education. He said that the other inhabitants of Transnistria also identify themselves with the Russian culture and traditions.
The Military Schools “Suvorov” educate only boys who receive secondary education and are prepared for admission to higher military education establishments. Such schools exist in Belarus and Ukraine.
