People of art from the former Soviet area believe the Russian theater from Moldova is coping with a series of issues hindering its evolution. One of the solutions for it to gain momentum would be to find a Muscovite theatrical leader to supervise the work of the Russian theater in Moldova, believes the president of the Moldovan Theater Union, Aurelian Danila, Info-Prim Neo reports. At a video-conference organized on March 24, on the occasion of the Russian Theater Day, people of arts from 4 capitals: Chisinau, Kiev, Moscow and Tbilisi discussed on the problems of the Russian theater in the former Soviet space. The Russian theater will develop normally only when it is seen as an integral part of the national culture, said Titus Jucov, the director of the Puppet Theater “Licurici” from Chisinau. The men of theater from Chiainau recognize there are many problems the solution of which is possible only with the involvement of authorities, but also through a closer link with and monitoring of representatives of the Russian theater from Moscow, existing the need for a Muscovite ‘daddy’ to solve the problems. At the conference they mentioned that the political leaders from those four states don’t pay enough attention to theater, and the policy promoted by them but hinders the normal development of the theatrical work. Despite the problems mentioned, the Russian Theater “A. Chekhov” from Moldova enjoys stability, but also devoted viewers who miss no play put on, said the director Sandu Vasilache. The conference was organized by RIA Novosti.
