The developments in Ukraine show how unprepared the Russian army is and how frustrated Vladimir Putin, who planned to conquer Kyiv during three days, but has now a war of attrition, is, said political commentators who do not rule out the possibility of Russia using biological weapons so as to later shift the responsibility onto Ukraine for such a disaster, IPN reports.

Political commentator Ion Tăbârță said the war in Ukraine revealed all the vulnerabilities of the Russian army, which turned out to be much more unprepared in practice than the image it built at world level. The Russians’ incapacity to take over political control in Ukraine turned the so-called special operation intro a war of attrition.

“Putin’s goal was to conquer Kyiv during two-three days and to take over political control in Ukraine. We see that the Russian army got seriously stuck and we now witness a war of attrition. The front line stabilized. The Russian Federation does not have the capacity to advance. It was seen how unprepared the army is. At the moment, the Ukrainians cannot stage a large-scale counteroffensive to take over. We also see the frustration of Putin who simply started to bombard civilians in cities.” Ion Tăbârță stated in the talk show “Emphasis on Today” on TVR Moldova channel.

For his part, political scientist Alexandru Solcan said the Russian propaganda is aimed at preparing public opinion for an eventual attack with biological weapons. Moscow takes such a desperate gesture into account so as to later accuse Ukraine of using biological warfare.

“For now, NATO is trying to discourage Russia by other means than military ones, through the NATO member states that impose fines and these fines in time will produce results. The Russians can use biological weapons so as to later say that it was a leak from a Ukrainian laboratory. Such a scenario is not excluded. We see that Russia’s blitzkrieg failed. The Russian army got stuck in a war of attrition. It was proven that Russia is not ready logistically and militarily for this war and therefore uses other methods,” stated Alexandru Solcan.

Brussels today hosts a NATO extraordinary summit centering on the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The President of Ukraine will attend through videoconferencing.
