Russia will be requested to open consultations on supply of wine

The Government of Moldova will call on the Russian authorities to launch consultations for developing a system for supplying alcoholic beverages according to the norms of the free trade agreement existing within the Commonwealth of Independent States. Such a decision was taken in a working meeting convened by Prime Minister Iurie Leanca, IPN reports.

According to a communiqué from the Government, as a result of consultations, there will be laid down all the quality and inoffensiveness requirements for the Moldovan wine products exported to Russia, in accordance with the new demands of the Russian authorities. The certification mechanism will be adjusted. The Moldovan group of experts is ready to anytime travel to Moscow to hold consultations on the issue.

Moldova exports 28% of the wine and 22% of the cognac to Russia. These exports total US$60 million, which is 3% of all the exports.
