About 200 veterans of World War II, who live in Moldova’s Transnistrian region, will receive financial support from the Russian Federation, Info-Prim Neo reports. The head of the Russian community in Transnistria Viorica Cohtareva was quoted by Novyi Reghion Agency as saying that all those who survived the war will be offered financial support, regardless of nationality. The lists include former prisoners of concentration camps, survivors of the blockade of Leningrad, and other categories of people. “These are persons who fought for victory in 1941-1945. The nationality does not matter. During those years of war, they all defended the country from enemies,” she stated. The persons who apply for lump sum payments must submit a set of documents that will be sent to the Embassy of Russia in Moldova, where relevant decisions will be taken. Victoria Cohtareva said that a part of the veterans already received money in a festivity held at the club “Veteran” in Tiraspol.
