The Russian authorities decided to postpone the introduction of authorizations for bilateral and transit transport for Moldovan carriers until September 1, IPN has learned from the National Motor Transport Agency.
The authorizations were to be applied as of June 1. “As a result of negotiations with the competent authorities of the Russian Federation, it was decided to put off the introduction of authorizations for the transport carriers of both of the states,” said the Agency.
In accordance with the Protocol of the 14th meeting of the Moldovan-Russian intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation of November 2016, the sides agreed to sign a new bilateral intergovernmental agreement in the first half of 2017. After the signing of the agreement, the Russian side pledged to issue 75,000 authorizations for freight transit and bilateral transport to Moldovan carriers and 750 authorizations for the transportation of goods to/from third countries.
An agreement on international road transport between the Government of Moldova and the Government of the Russian Federation was signed on May 31 this year.
