The Democratic Action Party (PAD) considers that Russia’s decision to set up 25 polling places in Moldova’s Transnistrian region represents interference in the country’s internal affairs and violation of the state’s sovereignty, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a statement issued by the party. “By such actions, the Kremlin authorities defy the Republic of Moldova and illegalize the Russian parliament, accepting votes from a region that is controlled by no internationally recognized authority. We believe that Prime Minister Vlad Filat, who signs declarations with the separatist leader Igor Smirnov from equal positions, has an irrespirable attitude as he legalizes in fact the unilateral actions of the unconstitutional Transnistrian regime,” says the statement. According to the PAD, the fact that the subject of the violation of the national sovereignty was avoided in the discussions with the Russian foreign minister, who visited Chisinau, shows that the current regime fully obeys Moscow. The results in the presumed positive development of the bilateral relations, with Moscow and with Tiraspol, are reduced to the signing of statements of good intent in which the political interests prevail over the national interests, says the party.
