Russia will soon consider the possibility of providing several tens of thousands of tonnes of diesel fuel as humanitarian aid for Moldovan agricultural producers, as President Igor Dodon agreed in a meeting in Moscow with the Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Dmitry Kozak, the Russian President’s special representative for the development of trade and economic relations with the Republic of Moldova, IPN reports.

The interlocutors also agreed to organize a new meeting of the Moldovan-Russian intergovernmental commission for commercial and economic cooperation in Chisinau this October and to sign a series of bilateral agreements in this.

There was discussed the resumption of the negotiations on the €200 million loan that is to be provided by Russia. The two officials agreed that the first round of negotiations between the representatives of the Governments of Moldova and Russia will be held the coming days.

“In another development, we noted the good dynamics of the export of Moldovan goods to the Russian market after the Government of the Russian Federation extended the period during which important agro-industrial goods can be imported duty-free, which enables our producers to make substantial savings. In this connection, I discussed the provision of authorizations for the transit of Moldovan goods through Ukraine to Russia with the Russian side. The responsible bodies were instructed to solve this problem in the nearest future, in mutually advantageous conditions,” Igor Dodon posted on Facebook.
