Russia halted the import of meat products manufactured by a Moldovan company, arguing the requirements of the Customs Union aren’t met, IPN reports.
According to the official website of Russia’s veterinary and phytosanitary watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor, the competent Russian authorities asked the Moldovan side to analyze the identified problems and to inform them about the conclusions in the nearest future.
The irregularities concern the raw material used by the producer from southern Moldova, which is brought from Belgium and Germany. According to Rosselhoznadzor, the given production now has restricted access to the territory of the Customs Union and Russia, while the Moldovan producers committed a serious violation of the sanitary-veterinary norms and rules imposed by the Customs Union.
