Veaceslav Rusnac will replace Belorussian coach Oleg Kubarev at the helm of Zimbru Chisinau. The latter resigned after finishing the first half of the season on the 6th place, IPN reports.

Rusnac had previously played for Zimbru and during his spell he helped the team to win a league title and two Moldovan Cups. “It's an honor for me to coach a team with such history as Zimbru. As soon as I got the offer, I had no doubts. I think it's a step forward in my career. Now, I have the task to build a new squad because, as you well know, the team parted ways with many players”, the new coach told Zimbru's official website.

The previous season, Rusnac won the league title with Zimbru's rivals Sheriff Tiraspol. However, he was sacked at the beginning of this season after failing to qualify for the Champions League play-off. Rusnac's assistants at Zimbru will be Andrei Matiura and Denis Romanenco.
