The underground pedestrian walkways in the capital city will be repaired with legal and transparent funds, acting mayor of Chisinau Ruslan Codreanu wrote on a social networking site, commenting on the Shor Party’s request to be allowed to repair the walkways in Botanica district. For his part, the party’s leader Ilan Shor said he is waiting for an official response, IPN reports.
Ruslan Codreanu noted he received the party’s application, but the Chisinau City Hall will not accept “the electoral present”. “Any investment in city development projects should be made from legal and transparent sources, not from dubious funds,” he stated.
Ruslan Codreanu also said the underground pedestrian tunnels in Botanica will be repaired in the immediate period with municipal funds and 10 million lei was allocated from the local budget for reconstructing ten such walkways this year.
In reaction, Ilan Shor noted we do not have an election campaign now and called on the acting mayor to think about the inhabitants of Chisinau. The Shor Party asked for the City Hall’s permission to revamp all the underground pedestrian walkways in Botanica after Avia-Invest company that manages the Chisinau International Airport, whose Administration Board Ilan Shor manages, repaired the walkway near the airport at his request.
