The presidential runoff is better organized from technical viewpoint than the first round of voting. Coordinator of the international observation mission of the Commonwealth of Independent States Akramsho Felaliev has told IPN they expect the runoff vote will also be held correctly so that the Moldovans can freely express their wish.

During the first hour of the opening of polls, Akramsho Felaliev visited three electoral bureaus and said that the Central Election Commission took into account the observations made by the CIS observers after the first round of voting. The polling places this time provided additional chairs and the observers do not have to stand. No irregularities were identified as regards the sealing up of ballot boxes.

During the first round of voting, the CIS observers monitored voting at over 160 polling places all over the country. Akramsho Felaliev said the CIS observers travelled to local polls early in the morning and plan to oversee voting in more than 150 polling places this time.

After the first round of voting, the observation mission of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly said the presidential elections of October 30 were free, open and competitive. The observations about the runoff vote will be presented in a news conference on November 14.
