Ahead of the upcoming school year, the organization “Children, Community, Family” (CCF) Moldova is urging the public to show solidarity and mobilize around the Run For Children team in order to ease the access of 270 children to education, IPN reports.

With the campaign called #DoipunctȘapte 2.7, organizers are challenging people to run in the period of August 20-27, every day, starting with 2.7 km, and donate to enter the race. The donation is 500 lei for individuals and various sponsorship packages are available for socially responsible companies, CCF Moldova says in a press release.

September 1 is a special celebration day for most children, especially for those going to school for the first time. For them, I will run 270 km in these 7 days. I will run and encourage you to do it!,” says the famous amateur endurance athlete Iulian Bercu, CCF ambassador.

Every year in September, CCF Moldova mobilizes athletes and healthy lifestyle enthusiasts into a team called Run For Children. The main goal of the team of runners is to raise money to support the kids and families with whom the organization works. Last year 155 runners (individuals and companies with corporate teams) joined Run For Children Team, and as a result 60 children were helped to return to family environments, leaving the orphanage forever.

Every day we are shocked by the medical and health threats posed by the growing number of (Covid-19) cases, but we can’t imagine what havoc this pandemic wreaks on families already struggling with the virus of poverty for years. Those with whom the CCF Moldova team works have been already in dire straits, and now the threats of this pandemic leave even more collateral effects on them for years to come”, said Tatiana Codreanu, CCF representative.
