The MPs of the ruling coalition assumed responsibility for doing reforms so as to implement the provisions of the Association Agreement with the EU, said invitees to the program “Fabrika” produced by Publka TV channel, IPN reports.

Valeriu Strelet, who heads the Liberal-Democratic parliamentary group, said now that the Association Agreement was ratified, he has a great feeling of joy, but also of responsibility as they cannot compromise what they started to do. A hard competition was won, but the most difficult period is yet ahead because painful reforms are to be done. Miracles will not be worked overnight, but the effects will be soon felt in agriculture, where the subsidization fund will rise from 500 to 625 million lei. Pensions and teachers’ salaries will be increased from July.

The president of honor of the Democrat Party, MP Dumitru Diacov considers that the first effects of the association with the EU became visible before the signing and ratification of the Association Agreement. He mentioned the repair of roads and of social facilities.

The Liberal Reformist Party’s chairman Ion Hadarca said reforms should be implemented exactingly. “It’s time to really do reforms. We lost time and energy on disputes and settling of accounts inside the alliance. We must bear in mind that we have a concrete plan for implementing the accord,” stated the MP.

Unaffiliated lawmaker Mihai Godea, who voted for the ratification of the Association Agreement, considers that the EU’s attitude to Moldova will change now that the accord was signed and ratified. “Those from Brussels will be more insist and will demand that the Moldovan political class should keep their promises. I wouldn’t be so triumphal. We should not forget that the EU was ready to sign the agreement with Ukraine even during the Yanukovych regime. It’s clear that Moldova profited from the situation. I’m fully in favor of the European reform. There is no alternative and no more efficient mechanism for instituting changes,” he said.
