Russia’s Campion Enisei-STM didn’t have chances of winning in the encounter with Bordeaux Begles at the start of the new European Rugby Challenge Cup. The hosts from Krasnoyarsk, with Maxim Gargalic among the players, lost by 17-57 to the team of Vadim Cobilas, who didn’t yet play, IPN reports.

Among the Moldovan players in the European Rugby Challenge Cup are also Oleg Prepelita, Victor Arhip and Andrei Mahu. The three will play for Krasny Yar on October 14 against the trophy holder Stade Francais. Russia’s vice champion Krasny Yar plays in a group with Edinburgh of Scotland and London Irish of England.

The final will take place in the Spanish city of Bilbao on May 11, 2018. For the first time, the competition will be hosted by a country that does not take part in the tournament. The European Rugby Challenge Cup involves teams from England, France, Italy, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, and Russia.
