Members of the Moldovan Rugby Federation are accusing the president of a rugby club of using the name of the Federation to obtain visas for persons that have nothing to do with sports for illegal migration and trafficking purposes. Veaceslav Bulai, a member of the group composed of rugby players and coaches, told a news conference on Wednesday that besides these illegal actions, Tudor Procopii is trying to pressure some players into refusing call-ups for the national team. The group wrote an open letter to Prosecutor General Valeriu Zubco and to Justice Minister Oleg Efrim asking them to investigate the case. The group says it is likely that Tudor Procopii enjoys protection from some law-enforcement officers without which his illicit activity would be impossible. Another request is to withdraw the licenses for two NGOs headed by Tudor Procopii. The group complains that after Procopii's actions affected the Federation's reputation real rugby players and coaches have difficulties obtaining visas. The group intends to create a commission to evaluate the damage done by Procopii in order to sue him. The Ministry of Justice and the Prosecutor General's Office has a legal deadline of 30 days to answer the letter.
