A number of 22 silver spruces were planted on the territory of the Chisinau park “Dendrariu”. These are ten years old and 2 to 2.5 meters in height each. A sapling cost 850 lei. The evergreens were bought from a nursery situated in Balti town, IPN has learned from the Chisinau City Hall.
As many as 21 spruces were purchased with funds from the Green Areas Association, while one tree with the money of acting mayor of Chisinau Silvia Radu.
“This way, the municipality restored that fir tree that was cut last December from the private premises of a resident of the municipality and was placed in the center of Chisinau and adorned as the Christmas tree,” it is said in the press release of the City Hall.
According to specialists, winter is the most favorable period for planting coniferous trees.
