It won’t be an easy round, Prime Minister Vlad Filat said, referring to the first round of the Transnistrian conflict settlement talks in the 5+2 format that is taking place in Vilnius. According to the Premier, Moldova will remain firm on its position, Info-Prim Neo reports. ”We received a message from Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Eugen Carpov. They are now holding discussions. We cannot yet speak about results. It won’t be an easy round, but Mister Carpov has the necessary mandate. Our position is very clear and firm. I hope it will contribute to the final decision of this round of talks,” said Vlad Filat. He reiterated that the participants in the talks are to agree the principles on which the Transnistrian conflict settlement talks will be based and the agenda of the negotiations. The decision to resume the formal talks in the 5+2 format was taken during informal consultations in Moscow on September 22.
