Roucek: you now have opportunity to focus on reform

“You have come to a country right in the midst of its reform process. If you do not mind the comparison, I would say we are on a work-site; presently, in Moldova we build, we repair. We hope that soon you will be able to come to a modernized country that did not only borrow European values, but is in fact implementing them. We know there is much to be done, and we want to get it done, because people are waiting for concrete actions” is the welcome message with which First Deputy Speaker Vlad Plahotniuc greeted the members of EU Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs official Delegation, reports Info-Prim Neo, quoting a communiqué from the Cabinet. In turn, head of the Delegation Libor Roucek, vice-chairman of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats from the European Parliament, stated that he sees major development opportunities in Moldova. “You now have political stability, and along with it the opportunity to focus on internal reforms, economic reforms, and the ones regarding relations between your country and the European Union. In the upcoming years we would like to see progress that will draw Moldova closer to European integration”, stated Libor Roucek. Among the European delegates are also EP vice-chair of the Delegation to EURONEST Kristian Vigenin and Romanian MEP Ioan Mircea Pascu, vice-chair of the Committee on Foreign Affairs. Along with Vlad Plahotniuc, the hosts were Liberal-Democratic Party leader Dumitru Diacov and Igor Corman, Chairman of the Cabinet’s Committee for Foreign Policy and European Integration.
