Only one customs post will work at the border crossing point Rososani – Briceni from February 21, not two as at present, and there will be joint inspection, Prime Minister Vlad Filat said in a press briefing upon his return from Kiev, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The Premier said that the Moldovan delegation in Ukraine took part in the signing of the agreement on the creation of the Euroregion “Nistru” and in a Moldovan-Ukrainian forum. They discussed a wide range of issues concerning the bilateral relations between the two countries with the Ukrainian officials.
Moldova’s positions coincide with those of Ukraine, which also wants the existing problems to be solved and good bilateral relations to be maintained, said Vlad Filat.
As to the demarcation of the border, the negotiations on the Novodnestrovsk hydroelectric complex are to be finished.
The officials agreed to organize the Ukrainian Culture Days in Chisinau and the Moldovan Culture Days in Ukraine so as to exchange values and bring the two countries closer.
Trade between Moldova and Ukraine in January-November 2011 totaled US$716.6 million, up 29% compared with 2010.
