Rosian Vasiloi was sacked as the head of the General Border Police Inspectorate based on his resignation. A decision to this effect was approved by the Cabinet at the proposal of the Ministry of the Interior, IPN reports.
Prime Minister Dorin Recean said that more dismissals will follow after the November 5 incident, when a citizen of Azerbaijan left without permission the security zone of the Chisinau International Airport. The man was caught the next day close to the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Chisinau. He was ejected from Moldova.
Earlier, on June 30, a border guard and an airport security officer were shot dead by a citizen of Tajikistan who was banned entry into Moldova. While being accompanied to the departures zone for being sent back, the attacker grabbed the gun of the border guard and fired at the two.
