President of the People's Christian Democratic Party (PPCD) Iurie Rosca spoke about “the malice in society” at a news conference on June 4, at which he shared his views about the recent events in Moldova with journalists.
Referring to the April 7 turmoil, he has said: “that violence was possible due the radicalization of the electoral options.” “If the political life in Moldova goes on so malicious that the political actors will look at one another as irreconcilable enemies, the citizens will have only to lose,” the PPCD leader said.
When asked by Info-Prim Neo's reporter, if he personally and key figures from his party may have any contribution to boosting the malice in society, Rosca has said: “You know how difficult our relations with the PCRM had been till 2005, till April 4. Let's compare 4 April 2005 with 7 April 2009. What was more necessary for Moldova, a reasonable compromise useful for Moldova's interests or a sheer confrontation with buildings ablaze, with violence?” the politician asked himself.
Info-Prim Neo specifies that on April 7 the protesters also poured their rage over a car owned EU TV. Iurie Rosca has avoided to say, at the conference, what link there is between the PPCD and EU TV, but media monitoring reports carried out by the Electronic Press Association (APEL) find this TV channel never criticizes the Christian-Democrats and the Communists, instead it grants lots of airtime to set in negative colors those three opposition parties which entered the parliament.
The PPCD will go alone in the upcoming early elections, Rosca said.
The PPCD voted to elect Vladimir Voronin as the head of the state on April 4, 2005. Over 140,000 voters cast their ballots for this party then. In the local elections of 2007, the PPCD gained 98,000 votes, and in the parliamentary poll of 2009 it gathered over 46,000, thus remaining outside Parliament.
