The Romanian Ministry of Education, Research and Innovation (MECI) has published the offer of seats in Romania's education institutions for the 2009/2010 academic year for the Romanian ethnics living outside of the country, including from the Republic of Moldova, Info-Prim Neo reports. For the Moldovan students, there are available 691 seats in universities, offered tuition-free and carrying a scholarship, and other 96 tuition-free seats, but carrying no scholarship. For master's degree studies, the offer is of 154 seats with scholarship and 232 without. For doctor's degree studies, Romania offers 42 seats with scholarship and 17 without. The number of seats in the post-graduate category of studies will be distributed among universities, but no distribution will be made based on the country where the Romanian ethnics come from. For graduate degree studies, the students with Baccalaureate certificates obtained in Romania or the students who studied at least 2 years in a Romanian high school shall register directly at universities to take the admission exams. Otherwise a Moldovan candidate will first have to register with the Romanian Embassy in Chisinau.
