The Romanians from all over the world are called on Sunday to vote for the members of the Senate and the Deputies Chamber for the next four-year mandate, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The elections in Moldova take place in those four polling stations opened in Chisinau. The authorities from Bucharest have sent 54,000 ballots for about 100,000 Romanian citizens from Moldova.
According to the representatives of the Romanian Embassy to Chisinau, the elections are unfolding with no incidents.
At the same time, more Romanian citizens accused the fact that they cannot express their constitutional right to vote, reasoned that they have not established their residence in Moldova in their Romanian passport.
They stated they have not been informed about these requirements in advance. Tens citizens, who pretend to have come from other localities from Moldova have accused the Romanian Embassy for not having clearly announced the conditions.
”It is unjust that there have been elections in which all had the right to vote. It is something different, unaccountable for me, because all people present can prove they are residents of Moldova through the identity card to Moldova,” Chisinau mayor Dorin Chirtoaca stated. He took part in the legislative elections in Romania, being a citizen of this country.
Vitalia Pavlicenco, the president of the National Liberal Party, considers that the Romanian authorities could have made an exception for the Moldovan citizens in such a situation, taking into account that it is not so simple for the people who have their residence in Romania to come to participate in elections.
The Romanian Embassy to Chisinau previously announced that the Romanian citizens with their residence in Moldova can vote by simple valid passport, in which residence in Moldova is mentioned. The Romanian citizens who are residents in Moldovan can vote by simple valid passport, having a sojourn permit, issued by the Moldovan authorities, which proves the establishment of residence in Moldova.
