The first district parliamentary office of the Romanian Senate was opened in Chisinau on March 15. Immediately after its inauguration, Romanian senator Viorel Badea had the first meetings with Moldovan citizens, Info-Prim Neo reports.
During the first month, the office will work three days a week – on Monday, Wednesday and Friday – by two hours a day, from 10.00 to 12.00. In the interim, Viorel Badea's consultant Sergiu Boghean will accept petitions and applications from Moldovans. Viorel Badea said the program of the office will be later modified, depending on the flow of applicants, and could work five days a week, by eight hours a day.
In order to schedule an appointment with Viorel Badea and lodge a petition, the people can contact the office located on 20 Sfatul Tarii St on 83-98-63 or 83-98-64. Viorel Badea will come to Chisinau once in 4-5 weeks and will have meetings on Friday and Saturday. All the accepted applications will be addressed to the Romanian authorities. Romanian experts will be invited to Chisinau to advise the Moldovan citizens.
“I think the regaining of Romanian nationality and the obtaining of small traffic permit and visas will be the major subjects for discussions at my meetings with Bessarabians. We will cooperate with the Romanian Embassy and Consulate and the local and central authorities of Moldova in this respect,” Viorel Badea said.
The senator stressed that through this office he also wants to encourage the Romanian businesses to invest in Moldova. “Not much will change in Moldova if it does not have a healthy business environment,” Badea said.
District parliamentary offices of the Romanian Senate will be also opened in Cahul and Balti, after the general consulates of Romania in these towns start work.
