Romanian, Moldovan companies agree to do business together

Representatives from 22 Moldovan and 7 Romanian companies identified opportunities to cooperate in various areas at a common meeting, Info-Prim Neo learned from a press release of the Romanian Embassy in Chisinau.
The areas of cooperation include supply of software for mechanical engineering, production and sale of meat and grain, technical consulting for business and management, export of flat glass, stained glass and double glazed windows, and expertise in renewable energy.
The companies from the two countries will also cooperate on third-party markets. To identify business partners in Russia, a meeting was organized for the Romanian companies with representatives from the Russian Chamber of Industry and Trade in the Republic of Moldova. The meeting was organized by the Moldovan Chamber of Industry and Trade together with the Bacau Trade Chamber, with the support of the Romanian Embassy's Office for Economic Promotion.
In its press release, the Romanian Embassy also informed that in 2011 Romanian's exports to Moldova rose by over 28% and imports by 86%. Romania's total trade with Moldova in 2011 constituted $1.13 billion, including Romanian exports worth $786.3 million and imports from Moldova worth $347.7 million.
Moldova is Romania's one of the most important trade partners outside of the European Union, placing sixth in terms of Romanian exports.
