Romanian foreign minister expected in Chisinau next week

Romania's Minister of Foreign Affairs Titus Corlatean will make a visit to Chisinau on September 13. The announcement was made at a meeting with Moldovan Justice Minister Oleg Efrim in Bucharest, Info-Prim Neo reports. In a press release from the Romanian MFA it was said that Titus Corlatean saluted the progress achieved by Moldova it its dialogue with the EU and expressed his conviction that the current targets in the relationship with the European Union, and namely the completion of negotiations on the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement and the liberalization of the visa regime, will be achieved as planned. Further, the Romanian foreign minister reiterated Romania's firm support for Moldova's aspiration to join the European Union and for the efforts related to democratization and judicial reform. Titus Corlatean said he was looking forward to personally convey these messages to the Moldovan authorities during his visit to Chisinau on September 13. In its press release, the Romanian MFA also said that the presence of Minister Oleg Efrim at the Annual Meeting of the Romanian Diplomacy was a demonstration of the excellent relationship between Bucharest and Chisinau and an expression of Romania's constant interest in developing the bilateral Strategic Partnership in support of Moldova's European aspirations. Last year, the Annual Meeting was attended by Iurie Leanca, Moldova's Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration.
