Romanian Film Days in Chisinau

The Romanian Film Days will be held in Chisinau for the first time between March 16 and 20. Movies by famous Romanian directors will be screened at the Odeon Center of Culture in the capital city. The Romanian Film Days in Chisinau are organized by the Chisinau City Hall in cooperation with the Bucharest Cultural Association “PRO Bessarabia and Bucovina” and the Odeon Center of Culture. Stela Busuioc, senior specialist for foreign relations, regional cooperation and European integration at the Chisinau City Hall, has told Info-Prim Neo that the Romanian Film Days will be festively opened on March 16, starting at 18.00. Entrance to the movies will be free of charge. The program includes screenings of feature films produced by the Bucharest Studio in cooperation with studios from other countries, like “Dacii” (“Dacians”) – the first movie of the famous director Sergiu Nicolaescu made in 1967, “Mihai Viteazul” (1071), “Ciuleandra” (1985) and “Osanda” (“Condemnation”) (1978). The picture “Supravietuitorul” (“The Survivor”) produced in 2008 will be shown on the last day of the Romanian Film Days. The leading roles are played by Sergiu Nicolaescu, George Mihaita, Vladimir Gaitan, Ileana Lazariuc and Loredana Groza. The Romanian Film Festival organized by the Romanian Cultural Institute with the assistance of the Embassy of Romania in Moldova will take place in Chisinau during April 11-17.
