The supplementation of the Consular section of the Romanian Embassy in Chisinau with 10 officials from Romania in order to boost up visa issuance, the modification of the online system and other activities contributed to the fact that the consulate’s supply exceeded the visa demand, Ambassador of Romania in Chisinau Filip Teodorescu told Radio Romania, quoted by Info-Prim Neo.
According to the Ambassador, the personnel supplementation, the arrival to Chisinau of an experienced consul general, Mihai Botorog, as well as other actions, generated a more effective activity of the consular mission and the coverage of all requests, about 520 visas being issued per day. According to the cited source, at the moment it is ascertained that the supply offered by the Romanian Embassy to the Moldovan citizens started to exceed the demand. Teodorescu exemplified with the fact that on Friday, January 26, there were fewer requests than the processing capacity of the office. Moreover, on Monday, only 60 or 70 persons of 200 who were scheduled online came to the consulate.
Referring to the online scheduling, Filip Teodorescu stated that recently, the scheduling software was modified, so that 200 persons daily can be scheduled on the Internet for obtaining visas. According to the same source, the efficiency of the system is shown by the fact that it allows to schedule easily and comfortably 6,000 persons for 30 days.
In parallel, the cited source says, the activity concerning the change of the Chisinau Consular Section’s location continues, as well as the opening of the two consular sections in Balti and Cahul. Several buildings have been identified and the problem is to be solved in the near future.
