The Romanian Commodities Exchange extends its operations into the Republic of Moldova and will serve the needs of entrepreneurs and public institutions. This was announced by Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization Dumitru Alaiba at a joint press briefing with the president of the Romanian Commodities Exchange Gabriel Purice. The minister noted that it is a crucial step to strengthen transparency and efficiency in commercial transactions, IPN reports.

Dumitru Alaiba said that a commodities exchange is indispensable in a modern economy. Transparency is one of the main benefits of a commodities exchange. Likewise, a healthy competition is ensured. When under equal conditions everyone has access to the same opportunity, competition wins and when it wins, when greater competition persists, it is also the best price that the buyer pays and the highest quality from which they benefit.

“The process of purchasing commodities on the stock exchange is simple and efficient and ensures speed in concluding transactions. I will urge all those who have something to sell or buy, whether state institutions or in the private sector, to consider this opportunity as a new way to do healthy business and make honest money in the Republic of Moldova. We are very happy to make this announcement today. It is also an opportunity for our exporters that will be able to reach foreign markets much more easily, through the commodities exchange. And, of course, Romania is one of the main markets for us is, but there is also the space further, westwards Romania,” stated the minister.

For his part, Gabriel Purice said that in addition to the other public procurement systems, products on the European market can also be traded on the commodities exchange. And it has been proven, not only in Romania, but also in other countries, that it is the most efficient way to trade. “Obviously, as I said, it goes to transparency, serious competition, the best prices that can be obtained through this system. The advantages they offer are obvious. So, in addition to advertising, there is a database with all the participants, on each product. We bring the best companies in the field in direct competition. The main advantage is that they are put in a clear competition through the specific stock exchange process of continuous negotiation and, in the end, the one who presents the best bid in the same session wins,” stated the president of the Romanian Commodities Exchange.

“To a large extent, we are evidently also addressing the private sector, which will have the opportunity to come and present its products and, finally, to market them based on a transparent system. On the other hand, we also seek to offer the possibility of opening the Romanian market for these companies, so that, benefiting from this system, they can also trade on the Romanian stock exchange.”
