“Alunelul” Park of Chisinau will host the Romanian Children’s Animation Festival between June 30 and July 7. Actors from both banks of the Prut River will present, free of charge, starting at 18.00, a series of eight shows based on known literary works for all ages. Contacted by IPN for details, actor Ion Ambrosi, organizer of the festival and director of “Piciul Julien” Theater, said that the first edition was organized after the pandemic and caused a special echo. That’s why it was decided to turn the festival into a good tradition so as to delight the audience every year and to unite the two banks of the Prut through animation theatre.

If in the first year only bands from the Republic of Moldova were invited. This year’s edition, which is the third in number, will involve three theaters from across the Prut. “Cărăbuș” Puppet Theater – Brăila will open the festival on June 30 with the play “Aladdin and the Magic Lamp”. On July 2, the Bucharest Musketeers Company will stage the play “The Two-Penny Bag”. Professional puppeteer from Cluj, Ion Iurcu, will come to Chisinau on July 4 to present the show “The Little Red Riding Hood and the Hungry Wolf”. The theatres of Moldova, including “Ion Creangă” Theatre, “Guguță” Theatre, “Licurici” Theatre, “Vasile Alecsandri” Theatre of Balti will stage the plays “The Old Woman’s Girl and the Old Man’s Girl”, “Tronca-ponca, vâj”, “Goriță's Tree”, “The Road Tricolor”. The actors of “Piciul Julien” Theater will close the festival with the premiere of the play “The Good Promoroacă”.

Ion Ambrosi said that the plays of the animation theater are equally intended for both children and adults because the adults sometimes forget some of the childhood stories and, through the examples from the stories, the actors try to remind them of the kindness with which we must live in the soul, of humanity, diligence and many other beautiful qualities.

The organizer of the festival and the director of “Piciul Julien” Theater underlined the assistance offered by the General Culture and Cultural Heritage Division to organize the festival.
